Business Development Analyst

Position: Business Development Analyst
Duration: 12 Months (with possibility of extension)
Location: Hybrid (Remote + In-person client-facing engagements)
Reports To: Managing Partner, ESIP

2. Role Overview

ESIP is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Analyst to support business growth, project acquisition, and partnership-building. The Analyst will support opportunity sourcing, proposal development, market intelligence, client engagement, and strategic positioning.


3. Key Responsibilities

A. Opportunity Scanning & Business Pipeline Development

  • Conduct continuous scanning for RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, tenders, research commissions, advisory opportunities, and grants.

  • Maintain ESIP’s business development pipeline.

  • Analyse opportunities for fit, capacity, and partnership needs.

  • Produce weekly and monthly pipeline reports.

B. Proposal Development & Bid Management

  • Coordinate full proposal lifecycle.

  • Draft technical sections, corporate capability statements, CVs, and past performance.

  • Support consortium building and partner coordination.

  • Provide budgeting inputs and LOE planning.

  • Ensure compliant and timely submissions.

C. Market Intelligence & Strategic Research

  • Conduct thematic landscape analyses.

  • Track donor priorities and competitors.

  • Prepare briefing notes and analytical memos.

  • Support refinement of ESIP’s BD strategy.

D. Client & Partner Engagement Support

  • Prepare pitch decks, profiles, capability briefs.

  • Participate in client engagements and manage follow-up.

  • Maintain CRM and partnership tracking.

E. Knowledge Management & Internal Coordination

  • Maintain repository of proposals, templates, and CVs.

  • Improve internal BD systems and SOPs.

  • Coordinate technical input gathering.

Thought Leadership & Visibility Support

  • Support blogs, briefs, presentations, and learning insights.

  • Contribute to ESIP branding and visibility efforts.


4. Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Development Studies, Finance, Social Sciences, or related fields.

  • 3–5 years’ experience in management consulting, business development, or donor-funded programme support.

  • Proven experience in proposal development.

  • Strong analytical and writing skills.

  • Familiarity with consultancy procurement systems and CRM tools.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Experience in ESIP thematic sectors.

  • Experience with CRM/BD management tools.
